I have not taken Drivetrain class but I have had many projects relating to it.
Here is the transmission for my 1941 Farmall Model B tractor. The transmission was assembled wrong before I got it. It also was missing a part and had a striped gear.
I split the transmission from the tractor and tore it apart. I did research to make sure all the parts were there and it got assembled the right way this time.
After a bit of sourcing parts I got the tractor back together and driving.
I was able to help rebuild a model T transmission. This picture shows the all new triple gears which had to have new pins installed along with new brass bushings. The new bushings had to be honed to size to hold tolerance.
This is the transmission after installing the new drums. These drums had to have their brass bushings honed to size as well.
Here is the fully assembled transmission. We installed all new clutch disks along with a new clutch spring.
Here is the broken u-joint from my 1973 F100.
I replaced the u-joint.
When I was 15 I got a lawn tractor which wouldn't stay in high gear. I took the transaxle out of it. I took it apart and split the transmission case. I cleaned everything and put it back together. It has worked since.
